Bloom into spring at the Distinctively Dutch Festival with the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble. This special musical “salon” features performances, food & drink, and a unique chance to experience the innovative sounds coming from the Netherlands in an open and non-traditional concert setting. Music from Louis Andriessen and Jacob Ter Veldhuis is featured. Andriessen is one of the world’s great composers and godfather of new music in the Netherlands. Jacob TV has become one of Holland’s most frequently performed composers by going his own way, bucking the establishment. The evening culminates with a revival of PNME flutist Lindsey Goodman’s legendary 2009 performance of Jacob TV’s Lipstick – an intoxicating mashup of audio from daytime talk shows and Billie Holiday.

Program:
Jacob TV: Body of Your Dreams (piano and boombox)
Rob Frankenberry, piano

Louis Andriessen: The Garden of Eros (2002 – violin and piano)
Roger Zahab, violin and Rob Frankenberry, piano

Jacob TV: Lipstick (flute and boombox)
Lindsey Goodman, flute
