Highmark First Night Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh's family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration in the Cultural District. Culminating with the city’s Countdown to Midnight and raising of the Future of Pittsburgh Ball, this six-hour celebration sprawls downtown’s renowned 14-block Cultural District — inside theaters, galleries, and unique spaces and along city streets on outdoor performance stages. Admission buttons make great stocking stuffers, and are only $10! Or, treat your loved one to the First Night Friend VIP Experience — which includes priority seating, a private lounge, and reserved parking — for only $40. The full lineup of events will be announced on December 5.

Another great gift idea that starts at just $10 is tickets to see Grupo Corpo this January at the Byham Theater.  The Brazilian dance company takes the stage for one night only, fusing Afro-Brazilian forms like samba, bossa nova, and capoeira with classical technique and modern dance.

Your kids will probably receive plenty of toys this holiday season, but for a truly special treat, give them the experience of watching their favorite characters come to life on stage. Younger kids will enjoy seeing Judy Schachner's Skippyjon Jones Snow What. It's a twist on the classic fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, this time starring a Siamese cat who thinks he is a Chihuahua! The best part? This show is part of the Citizens Bank Children's Theater Series, which allows you the flexibility of taking a field trip Downtown to see the show, or staying close to home with a performance in your own neighborhood.

Kids ages 7+ might prefer tickets a show on our EQT Bridge Theater Series: The 13-Story Treehouse. The first in The Treehouse Books series written by Andy Griffiths, The 13-Story Treehouse introduces us to Andy and Terry, who live in the treehouse. make stories, and have a series of completely silly adventures together.
