Professional Development Workshop for Educators
Topic: Creating Authentic and Engaging STEAM Lessons with Visual Arts
Intended audience: formal and informal educators working with K-12th grade students

In this hands-on session, educators will engage with materially-based 3D visual art in order to explore the inherent STEM connections. In addition to exploring the skills and practices of this art form, participants will learn how to develop authentic arts integration lesson plans, consider how to overcome barriers to bringing the arts into their classroom, and walk away with specific arts-based strategies and tools they can immediately implement into their own teaching practice.
