Paint our city's landscape in this 2-hour painting session during the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival. The artist will demonstrate and explain the materials used as participants engage in the activity as well as the steps necessary to paint outdoors using oils and canvas. Our meeting place will be in Point State Park.

Each participant will need to bring:

  • An easel (bring umbrella if you have one)
  • Wear a hat
  • 8x10 or larger canvas
  • Bristle brushes, sizes 2-12
  • Odorless turpentine or water for acrylics
  • Container for this substance (I use an old coffee can)
  • Paper towels, plastic bag for garbage
  • Oil paints:
    • Titanium white
    • Ultramarine blue
    • Ivory black
    • Cerulean blue
    • Cadmium red light
    • Cadmium yellow light
    • Alizarin Crimson
    • Cadmium lemon yellow
    • Yellow ochre
    • Burnt sienna
    • Burnt umber
    • Raw umber
    • Liquin (painting medium)
  • Don’t forget to bring water or beverage…it gets hot out there!
