From Compagnie Furinkaï comes Origami, a bold collaboration between Franco-Japanese dancer/choreographer, Satchie Noro, and French designer/builder, Silvain Ohl. Inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, Origami introduces an unlikely pairing: a monumental, 40-foot shapeshifting shipping container and a gravity-defying dancer.

Throughout the performance, the enormous steel red box shifts continuously, creating an unstable yet intriguing stage for the dancer to move in and around. The astonishing duet reorients the shipping container from a globalized and globalizing device to an artifact generating new kinds of relationships, a driving force behind Origami.

Like nothing ever presented in Pittsburgh before, this spectacle dance performance is free to attend at the 2019 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival and will be performed at Point State Park.
