The Precipice Community Band plays a dynamic amalgam of Caribbean-infused jazz with an indie-pop sensibility. Their music utilizes an original ensemble language, a fundamentally-based style called the Apres-Garde.

The band is made up of Antonio Croes (piano, vocals), George Heid III (drums, percussion), and Ava Lintz (bass), three Pittsburgh-based musicians who are steeped in the city’s deep and unique music tradition.

Their approach is a post-historical, 21st century take on American music. It is American music through a multicultural lens, a style that encapsulates the edgy working-class swing of Pittsburgh, the eerie provincial blues of Herminie, and the ecstatic Carnival Socas of Oranjestad all in one cohesive gestalt. The Precipice Community Band plays uncompromising creative music that embraces the simultaneous clashing layers of generation, ideology, and culture that make up our increasingly global world. It is music that invites the listener to both think and feel.
