“Single-Use Planet” is a documentary film project that focuses on the single-use plastic waste problem. The producers and filmmaker have invited us to premiere the film before it is unveiled during Earth Week 2025 on PBS!

The film goes upstream to SWPA where millions of tons of raw plastic are being made at the Beaver County plastic plant despite a global plastic waste problem. Many environmental advocates in SWPA are featured including Dr. Ned Ketyer, CMU green chemistry pioneer Terry Collins, Frackland Tour creator Lois Bower-Bjornson and BCMAC members Bob Schmetzer and Terrie Baumgartner.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with a reception and refreshments. The film showing is 7 p.m.

Can this powerful industry be persuaded to temper its production of single-use plastic? Our search for answers leads from Pennsylvania to Washington D.C. and finally internationally.
