For Arts Landing, Peña presents Local Time and Weather, a dynamic, interactive installation that invites participants to actively engage by placing the provided magnetic shapes onto the sculpture’s surface to reflect the current time and weather. Local Time and Weather was created in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s Tough Art residency, which challenges artists to design engaging pieces that can sustain the rigors of a hands-on environment. Peña was selected from a distinguished roster of Tough Art alumni for this commission, marking the Tough Art program’s first major collaboration for an offsite public art installation.
