The steel that built America's skyscrapers came from the mills and furnaces of Pittsburgh, and the city quickly became a hotbed of construction for towering technology that radically altered the urban landscape. Architects from Chicago and New York flocked to the Golden Triangle to compete for commissions, building up their fame through feats of engineering that define our skyline still today. Now many are being rediscovered and repurposed by a new generation of admirers.

Mark Houser leads you on a fascinating narrative tour of iconic buildings in Pittsburgh and beyond, highlighted by vivid illustrations and historic photographs. Along the way, he shares inspiring details about the men and women whose personal strivings produced these legacies in stone and steel.

About the speaker:
Mark Houser has taken nearly 3,000 people to the top of Pittsburgh's classic antique skyscrapers on his popular rooftop tours, and has journeyed to more than 50 cities in search of the best Gilded Age and Art Deco towers for his books, MultiStories and Highrises Art Deco.
