Arts Landing: Pitt Block Party Rules
Welcome to the Pitt Block Party at Arts Landing
Arts Landing is owned and operated by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust (the “Trust”). We invite visitors to enjoy Arts Landing in ways that are respectful, safe, and considerate and in line with the rules below.
The Trust is authorized to interpret, enforce, and modify these rules at any time, as well as to address situations not listed here in its discretion. Visitors who do not comply may be asked to leave and may be subject to additional action.
The Pitt Block Party at Arts Landing runs from 9 AM to 6 PM on Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25. Visitors are not permitted to enter Arts Landing when closed.
Violations may result in removal without re-entry; illegal activity will be reported to law enforcement.
Help Keep Arts Landing Safe
All visitors must proceed through designated screening and entrances.
The Pitt Block Party at Arts Landing will follow the NFL’s Clear Bag Policy.
- Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm.
- Up to one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags are permitted.
- Small, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the Pitt Block Party with a clear plastic bag.
Strollers, associated bags and blankets, and medical bags will be permitted, subject to a physical/visual inspection.
Prohibited Items and Activities
- For everyone’s safety and recreation, the following items and activities are prohibited:
- Weapons and firearms of any kind, including replicas
- Animals, other than service animals
- Alcohol, unless purchased at Arts Landing and consumed in designated areas
- Bottles, cans, thermoses, coolers, glass containers, aerosol cans, cups, and beverage containers of any kind, other than an empty, reusable water bottle
- Fighting, throwing objects, and disorderly conduct of any kind
- Fireworks, explosives, tasers, laser pointers, and similar items
- Open flames, including grills, candles, or fire pits
- Smoking, including vaping and e-cigarettes
- Possession or use of drugs and illegal substances
- Camping, including tents, sleeping bags, and similar items
- Coolers, duffle bags, or luggage of any kind
- Frisbees, footballs, inflatable balls/devices, beach balls, throwable sports equipment of any kind
- Bicycles, scooters (motorized or electric), skateboards, rollerblades and skates, hoverboards, shopping carts, and similar devices
- Professional audio or video recording equipment unless authorized
- Drones, UAVs, or remote-controlled aircraft
- Airhorns, bull horns, or amplified sound devices unless authorized
- Two-way radios, unless authorized
- Face masks, excluding medical or weather use
- Unapproved solicitation or marketing materials or handbills
- Sleeping or loitering
- Panhandling or soliciting
Prohibited items and items determined to be inappropriate or unsafe for entry into Arts Landing will be the responsibility of the visitor and cannot be accepted, stored, or checked in by the Trust or Pitt.
Food and Beverage
All outside alcohol or drinks are prohibited. Visitors may bring an empty, refillable water bottle and fill it at a water filling station.
Alcohol will be available for sale at Arts Landing. ID and wristband is required for the purchase and consumption.
All alcohol must stay within Arts Landing.
Visitors who appear intoxicated or demonstrate other signs of drug or alcohol impairment will be subject to removal from Arts Landing.
Be Respectful of Others
Visitors are expected to:
- Use respectful language and behavior toward all people
- Avoid conduct and speech that is disruptive, threatening, discriminatory, or unsafe
- Supervise children at all times
- Keep entrances, exits, and walkways clear and accessible
- Refrain from interfering with the progress of the event (including throwing objects or attempted unauthorized entry)
Playground
The Cultural Trust is proud to host Downtown’s first playground!
- Play at your own risk.
- The Playground is limited to children ages 5-12.
- Adults must supervise children at all times.
- Use equipment safely.
- Follow Arts Landing rules.
Care for Arts Landing
Arts Landing’s landscape and public art are here for everyone to enjoy.
- Don’t litter! Dispose of trash properly and help to keep Arts Landing clean.
- Stay on designated paths and out of plant beds. Do not pick or remove flowers or plants.
- Do not climb on or deface artwork, trees, or structures.
- Do not dump liquids, ice, or other materials in plant beds or common areas.
- Do not attach items, post signs, or affix materials to Arts Landing features.
Activities Requiring Permission
To ensure appropriate use of the space, prior approval from the Trust is required for the following activities.
- Performances, amplified sound, or busking
- Organized sports
- Commercial activity, vending, solicitation, or distribution of materials
- Photography, filming, or video recording for commercial purposes
Media Release
By entering the Pitt Block Party at Arts Landing, you acknowledge and consent to being photographed and/or recorded. Images and videos captured may be used for promotional, marketing, and public relations purposes in print, digital, and social media without compensation.
